CURRENT EVENTS // Refer to this entry if you have any questions about up and coming events with us for pop ups & promotions. We are trying our best to balance both an active website & social media platform which we are conscientiously trying to limit our time there but also be more intentional with time there and connecting with our audience in alternative ways, which we are exploring! we want to treat this area of information almost like a blog…time to go back to the days of connecting and the only way is analog! we’ll see… nothing is easy these days and for me personally its consistency, but i’ve been working on it!

In the more recent climate and news, we are devastated with the news and footage to see how the recent kona low weather affected our neighbors on the north shore and although we are amazed by how quickly the community was able to come together the work has just started and we are researching ways to kokua them and find ways to help sufficiently and efficiently. there are a lot of initiatives that have jumpstarted and will need our continued help throughout rebuilding and reshaping our lovely north shore communities! we stand with you all. mahalo to everyone who has been providing and supporting those affected by this and we will try our best to share & contribute to the efforts everyone was able to kick off. grateful for all of that!



April 2026

  • Merrie Monarch! We are (as always) going to have our items at the Hana Hou Shop, right in the heart of downtown Hilo! We are aiming to get the items in Wednesday, April 7! Shop our mini MM capsule there!

  • DEALS ON DEALS - we will have a rack of last chance items of samples, tees, merch etc at DEEP discounts and part of the Pitacus market, their first one they’re hosting at the new location! That will take place on April 25! 10a-4p // located near down to earth on king street 2535 KING STREET

May 2026

  • KAUAI BOUND! We will share more details soon, but we will hopping over to Kaua’i again to be a part of their Mother’s Day Evening Market Saturday May 19! the event will be around 3/4p-8p!

MOA ALOHA CAPSULE LAUNCH / 12.5

We’re officially kicking off the holidays here… well to some its a little later than the rest but nonetheless, ITS HAPPENING! We were so stoked and happy with our in person launch in Kaua’i and now its time to have it here, for all of you who have been patient for this drop—we appreciate you! We did source some of the last of the fabric so yes, once we figure out what we can do with that, we’ll offer made to order! HOLIDAY MARKET !

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN! As you know we try to gear up for the holidays and provide you with your favorites and try to make familiar experiences unique and special. This year is no exception. We are always offering market time to the tried and true events that we love seeing you folks and meeting new pals along the way!

Saturday, December 14 - 10A - 3P We are popping up again at the Sunshine People Market! There’s a $5 entry which proceeds go to a charity of the events choosing, so I promise the entry fee isn’t just for nothing! Your $5 will be going a long way! We will have a variety of palaka product as well as great deals on makaha merch items and some new merch we hope you’ll love! regardless if you shop with us or not, it would be great to see you all during the holiday festivities!

Friday, December 20 - 10A - 6P - “Suite Dreams: Lodging and Experiences by Matt Bruening” — A concept that I’m trying to make happen for the next capsule and shopping experiences is a take on the feel of vacationing (and staycationing… my favorite) to a home setting. I’ve been wanting to offer goods for everyone from clothing and accessories as well as taking some space in your own home. I wanted to curate a lodging experience where I wanted to attempt to design a space that mimics your favorite hotel room or get away abode. I’m ultimately inspired by the times of when we were younger and lucky enough to experience the ‘Makaha Inn’ located just in the valley minutes away from our family home, and the memories we’ve had there before its official closure in 2012. The view was epic, and the layout of the property and amenities and other experiences the hotel offered was very unique and nostalgic—things i obviously thrive off of. So I wanted to inject a quick project and idea I’ve had in mind for years and try to make it come to fruition in the form of this event! I’m gonna try my best to make it happen and please any constructive criticism, advice, and even ideas are gladly welcomed! Hope to see you all before the rush of holiday celebrations with your loved ones and you can come and relax check it out!
